By now you’ve probably noticed that most of the time you’re not listening to your band’s music, but rather watching a YouTube clip or reading an article about it.
These are the moments when your bandmates are at their most badass.
We spoke to five musicians from around the world about how they’re getting the most out of their bandmates, what makes a badass musician, and how to get a girl to want to dance with you.
#waspband is the name of a band from South Africa that started as a YouTube channel and has now become a global brand, and has garnered millions of fans on Facebook.
Wasp band member Marcus King is a drummer in the band Wasp.
“Myself and other musicians are really into getting into the rhythm of music and that can really bring a smile to someone’s face,” King told Business Insider.
“For some people it can be just the spark of the music, and for others it can lead to a deeper connection.
If it’s really something they’re into, it can give them that sense of connection.”
The Wasp has been playing shows around the country for years, and King says that the majority of his bandmates get behind the music when he shows them his videos.
He also thinks that the band is making a name for itself as an outlet for the band’s fans, which he hopes to expand on in the future.
“It is a really cool thing to have a group of people who are really passionate about what they’re doing and want to do it for as long as possible,” he said.
“People want to be part of something they love and want their friends to feel like they care about them.”
It was a dream of King’s to play a solo show in South Africa, but when he first heard the band on YouTube, he wasn’t sure he was going to make it.
“I was like, ‘Oh, this is a good idea,'” he recalled.
“So I booked a gig with a friend and got on a plane and flew to South Africa.
I didn’t know anything about it at the time, so I was like a newbie to all this.
But then, after a couple of weeks I was on a tour bus, and my friend was like ‘Marcus, you’re doing a show?’
And I was just like, yeah, I am!”
King’s journey into the music industry has been an amazing one.
He started the band as a hobby and was inspired by the people he met during his travels.
“When I started out in this hobby, I was kind of like an outsider and I didn [have] any connections, so it was really hard to connect with people,” he told Business Insiders.
“You have to really just go out and find out about things, so now I feel like I have a lot more connections.”
King also has a new love for the arts.
“A lot of people, I’m sure, think that music is a way to express yourself, but in reality it’s more of a tool to share with your friends,” he explained.
“Music is a platform for us to talk to each other about something we care about.
It’s really about the people that we are, and it’s something that we want to show to the world.”
One of the main reasons King decided to become a musician was because he was looking for a way for people to express themselves.
“My friends and I are really interested in what the world has to offer and how we can share our passion and our stories,” he shared.
“We don’t have to be experts, and we’re not doctors, and everyone can do it, but we want everyone to feel at least as much as we do.”
While some people might have found themselves drawn to a specific music genre, King says he finds the most enjoyment in creating music that is truly unique.
“To me, a lot of bands come across as being similar to what I like,” he stated.
“If you’re going to do something, you have to find the essence of what you’re trying to do.
And then it will also help you create something people are excited about.””
The more you can create something that is a little different, the more you’ll be able to create something a little more unique.
And then it will also help you create something people are excited about.”
I’ve always wanted to be an artist, and this has been the only way that I’ve been able to achieve that.
“The most important thing about becoming a badass is to be selfless, King said.
“They’re all working their tails off to make a living, and”
There’s so much pressure on people in the music business right now,” he noted.
“They’re all working their tails off to make a living, and
